Welcome to episode #145. This week we talk about the various types of stamp collectors. Stamp collecting is a huge topic with many different collecting interests. From the classic collector to the historian who wants a relic of history, to the investor (AND YES, we do not shirk away from talking about investing here) stamp collecting offers such a range of interests that it will appeal to anyone.
Week we delve into the different types (we call the classes) of stamp collectors. (3 minute marker).
Our guests in this are Rich Specter and Ray Liebermann.
Ray is also the editor of the on-line newsletter 100J. To subscribe just send an email to ray@100j-grading-newsletter.com

Welcome to episode #140. This week we are all about the history and back story of the stamps of the huge area smack dab in the middle of Africa that was claimed by England, France, Germany, Spain, and Portugal but eventually wound up being owned by one pretty despicable person from Belgium. (4 minute marker)
The history of The Congo, The Belgian Congo, Saba, Katanga, Zaire (did I leave anybody out) is fascinating in its brutality, instability, United Nations involvement and crisis. The stamps of this area confirm this with many different nation states (and some non-recognized ones), overprints and new issues, all with fascinating back stories This area has always fascinated me. Finally we have done a podcast on it.
We also have an update on COUNTERFIET STAMPS. (28 minute marker)
Enjoy.

Welcome to Episode #139. We discuss the Woman’s Armp Air Corp WASPs who were paramilitary pilots with a very interesting story. We discuss the Jaquelin Cochran stamp which shows her as a pilot or racer or something…. It does not show that she was a WASP and for very interesting reasons. We also discuss the stamp varieties on her issue as well as some other famous lady pilots who have stamps – notably a discussion on the Quimby stamp and its perf varieties. (3 minute marker)
We also share a story from the USPS podcast about a great letter correspondence to Mohammed Ali. A great story. (21 minute marker).
